Abstract

In developing countries like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan hazard of cholera is a major health concern. The complete genome sequence of V. cholera interprets the existence of diversified genes and hypothetical proteins whose functions are not known. The full genome sequence of V. cholera reveals the presence of many genes and putative proteins with unknown functions. Understanding the organism requires analyzing and annotating the structure and function of putative proteins. The sequence of a potential V. cholera O1 protein has been annotated from NCBI in this work. The structure and function of the targeted hypothetical protein FKV26 15010 from V. cholerae were determined using a variety of computational methods and databases. Protein structure was modeled in three dimensions. This study's structural prediction and functional characterization of this protein point to it as a viable target for docking research in the development of cholera therapeutics.
