Abstract

The freshwater prawn Barytelphusa cunicularis were fed with 0.5 ml of (196) CuSO, and (0.1%) CdSO daily. Its effect on blood sugar level was studied. Both the metals elevated blood sugar level was studied. Both the metals elevated blood sugar level which as maximum at 24 hrs. CdSO, induced the hyperglycemia up to 72 hrs only, however CuSO, showed this response upto 7 days. After that blood sugar level was maintained at normal level.
