A Reference Dictionary of Corporate Governance Systems

Corporate governance is the system of rules, performs, and procedures by which
organization is absorbed and controlled. This chapter is illustrating the progressing the
global corporate governance reform, presenting some countries around the world as a
sample. In this chapter we will show the different corporate governance systems worldwide
by outlining the main characteristics of each system. Also, we will evaluate the impact of the
specific codes of practice and policy document that have been established in each one of
the countries, with reference to academic studies.
